I despair. Reading news like this makes me want to abandon the real word and lock myself in a virtual realm. Upon which Mandelson will throw away the, key, door, walls and all - and probably lock me in a real cell for daring to use the internet.
It's like the Matrix in reverse - a new order where we are punished in the real world for potential infractions in the digital world. I'm led to wonder if by proscribing the digital revolution, is the government inevitably inciting a far more 'real' revolution?
I'm probably just rambling, and I don't even live in the UK anymore, but the way governments react to the internet lately makes me feel more and more like a rat in an ever shrinking cage (one where I get zapped for so much as touching the walls).

You'd be surprised at how close you've got to the theme of Part 2 of this article, which will hopefully be published in the next couple of days.
